SAMIA MALIK

“Home Recording Academy has been life-changing. I’ve added the word PRODUCER to my website now, I can’t tell you how amazing it feels!”

Before enrolling in Home Recording Academy, I was dabbling with music technology for years and actively learning just for a few months. As a singer, I’m really dependent on instrumentalists but it was always a challenge to get everyone together in the same place to record. I had recorded in studios in the past but I felt like I couldn’t experiment or take risks without feeling judged by other people. I needed to find a way to record my music and share it with my audience.

I had taken a few workshops with Isobel so when enrolment in HRA opened, it felt like completely the right time to do it. The idea of the community of women and the knowledge and support on offer were just too good to not to take up! I enrolled in the course for my 60th birthday and I’m so glad I did. I loved Isobel’s steadying and generous presence, the truthful sharing and feedback, the intense learning and the incredible supportive community which will be ongoing.

Home Recording Academy has been life-changing in my relationship to myself as a musician. It was not only a practical course, but it had a deep, emotional level too which was so powerful. I recently performed a show of completely new songs which would not have been possible without the knowledge I gained from HRA. I’m confident that I have the skills to keep recording and can bring my songs to the next level. I’m just so excited about what I can do with my music going forward, I can’t tell you how amazing it feels!
